If you buy for resale or for a tax-exempt project, you should not be paying sales tax on this site. Send us your certificate once, we put the exemption on your account, and every order after that is calculated without tax.
How it works
- Create an account on this site with the email you order from. The exemption lives on the customer account, not on a single order, so it only applies when you are signed in.
- Send us the certificate. Email it to alisa@alexglasscorp.com with your account email in the subject line.
- We check it and switch the exemption on. We confirm by email when it is live. From then on the cart shows no sales tax for you.
What to send
| Where you take delivery | Form |
|---|---|
| New Jersey | Form ST-3, Resale Certificate |
| New York | Form ST-120, Resale Certificate |
The certificate has to be filled in completely and signed: your legal business name and address, your certificate of authority or registration number, the kind of goods you are buying for resale, and the date. A form with blanks in it is not a valid certificate, and we cannot accept it.
Two things worth knowing
You have to be signed in. A guest checkout has no customer record attached to it, so the exemption cannot apply. If you check out as a guest by accident, tell us before the order ships and we will correct it.
A resale certificate is not a discount. It says the goods are being resold or installed under a contract where the tax is handled elsewhere, and you are responsible for that being true. We keep the certificate on file because the state asks us for it, not you.
Not buying for resale?
Then sales tax applies normally and is added at checkout, calculated from the delivery address. Prices on this site are shown before tax.
